A place to vent...

After having finished my first five months of law school at the University of Kansas I have decided I need a place to clear my head, vent about the stupid law and release some stress so that I don't explode or combust into a pile of nothingness before these next three years are done. Don't know how much I will write but figured it would be good for those of my friends who are considering law school to know what to expect before they get in over their heads and can't turn back.

Well for now lets just give a basic overview of my classes. I am 4 weeks away from 6 very intimidating but conquerable exams in Estates and Trusts, Criminal Procedure, Criminal Law, Contracts, Civil Procedure, and Business Associations. So far they are all going, some well and some not so well. They have made me decide that 1. i dont want the MBA that I was debating in August, 2. I should have been outlining much earlier in the semester (that is what all law kids do to prep for exams) and 3. I have no desire to ever see the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure again.

Tonight I am in the Law Library working on my Estates outline. It is a challenge because I have had 2 professors for the class (one left for 6 weeks for back surgery) and they are two totally different teachers. It is sunday and I have been in the law library from 10-1, 2-5:30 and now I am back from 7- probably around 10. I am starting to get exhausted but have to keep on pushing through for about two more hours. I have learned tonight exactly what is important to execute a will although I will have no clue how to actually do one when i finish class, i can tell you if someone screws one up. OH the joys of law school where they teach theory and not practicality. I fear I will be spending the first 10 years of my legal career figuring out how the theories really work out, maybe I should start with how to write my own will?? We all die eventally, might as well be prepared right?

Ok well with my thoughts now on my inevitable death I should get back to estates, next task is to figure out if someone can hand write their wills. Any ideas? I will be pouring over the question tonight and promise to report back at a later time.
